FIRST LOOK: 2021 BMW M3

The entire BMW lineup is inspiringly powerful. From the zippy 2 Series to the mammoth X7, being behind the wheel of a BMW model is a unique experience that rewards you with performance and luxury. However, the M badge has long denoted an elite level of tuning, and the 3 Series was one of the first models given this prestigious upgrade. The M lineup has expanded to include amazing variations of some of BMWs most successful cars and SAVs. Some of the most iconic BMW models include the E30 M3 and the E46 M3. The M badge has become deeply engrained in the past of the 3 Series and the all-new BMW M3 is poised to join these icons in a rich lineage of performance.

Head-Turning Design

If you’ve been looking for a practical sports car that stands out, the new M3 Sedan is the answer. There’s no denying how striking it looks from all angles. The large kidney grille adorning the front of the new M3 complements the aggressive headlights and chiseled hood. Together these elements make the BMW M3 look like a menace on the road. BMW paid the same detailed attention to the rear, since that’s what competitors will be staring at on the racetrack as they struggle to keep up. The rear diffuser improves aerodynamics and the wide stance improves stability in corners.

Jaw-Dropping Power

It wouldn’t be worthy of the M badge without a stout drivetrain. The new M3 features a BMW M TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder engine capable of up to 503 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. That power can rocket the M3 Sedan from 0 to 60 miles per hour in a blinding 3.8 seconds. Unlike many other modern sports cars, the M3 is still given a true manual transmission. This transmission offers smooth shifting and adds an element of control and connection that most automakers choose to eliminate entirely. For drivers who want lightning-fast shifting, the M3 Competition model will have a standard 8-speed M STEPTRONIC Transmission. Handling is never overlooked in a BMW, but M models receive special treatment. For the new M3, an M-tuned chassis, adaptive M suspension, and an M Sport Differential make sure that power gets from the engine to the road with minimal body roll and maximum traction.

Sporty Interior

Inside, the comfort of the 3 Series has been given a sporty makeover. The Standard M Sport Seats provide support under hard cornering and comfort for long drives. The leather-wrapped steering wheel offers complete control, and the steering wheel-mounted buttons allow you to navigate the intuitive infotainment system without taking your hands off the wheel. Merino leather, aluminum accents, and M badges set the new M3 apart from the rest and whether you’re on the racetrack or using it as an exhilarating daily driver, the new M3 is setting the standard high for luxury sport sedans.

BMW continues to pay homage to the 3 Series legacy with the 2021 BMW M3, and the BMW of Catonsville team can’t wait until we get this model in our showroom, early next year.  If you can’t wait, the 3 Series still offers astounding performance.
