The Perfect Ride For…
Drivers seeking the ultimate combination of luxury and electrified driving. The 2024 BMW iX envelopes the driver and their passengers with updated tech and luxurious finishes while also delivering an efficient and highly capable driving experience. The striking and ultra-modern exterior of the BMW houses a luxurious interior with just the right amount of function and practicality. The iX offers all the thrilling performance drivers demand of their BMWs in an environmentally responsible package.
Drive and Handling
For the 2024 iX, drivers may choose the xDrive50 base model and its 516 hp or the high-performance M60, which delivers a healthy 610 hp. Two electric motors power the iX, and all trims come with all-wheel drive. Drivers may choose an optional adjustable air suspension, as well as rear-wheel steering, on both models. Regardless of configuration, drivers should expect smooth yet agile handling from their iX.
The battery in the iX is a 105.2-kWh battery, which receives an EPA estimated range of 324 miles. As with all-electric vehicles, the true range depends on many factors, including driving style, weather, and road conditions. When equipped with the standard 20-inch wheels, drivers can expect 86 MPGe city and 87 MPGe highway. The iX meets the industry standard for charging speeds, allowing drivers to charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in just over half an hour at a DC fast charger (DCFC).
Key Features
Safety features on the iX include a comprehensive array of driver-assist programs like parking sensors, automatic high beams, and lane-keep assist. Automated emergency braking and pedestrian detection come standard. Lane-departure technology and lane-keep assist are also standard. Drivers may choose to upgrade their cruise control to adaptive cruise control that features semi-autonomous driving.
Drivers of the 2024 BMW iX will find its interior spacious and accommodating, with a focus on minimalist design around the cabin. The iX is available with a panoramic sunroof that boasts electrochromic shading, which isn't yet a standard feature on most vehicles. Other luxe features include heated front seats outfitted with a speaker system and power for both the driver and passenger seats.
For seating material, BMW offers three options for upholstery, including synthetic leather, leather, and microfiber cloth. Driver and passengers will enjoy the BMW's comfortable seats while listening to the standard Harman/Kardon stereo system or the optional upgraded 30-speaker Bowers & Wilkins system. All BMW iX vehicles also feature connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The infotainment system on the BMW is called iDrive and allows drivers to customize their graphics and menus, as well as set up a voice-activated assistant. The infotainment system is a huge 14.9-inch screen at the center of the dashboard, and the gauge cluster on the left measures an impressive 12.3 inches. BMW occasionally delivers over-the-air updates for its iDrive system and also offers the option to engage a Wi-Fi hotspot with a cellular connection inside the vehicle.
